Copper inlay ring design
This is a design ring with a copper inlay. And we use a much copper in our interior design materials. So even those inlays that look like fabric are actually sophisticatet tissues of metal and synthetics. And actually a french artist creates some of the “fabric” design we use. But in this first ring design there is a copper mesh. And so it has this orange glow to it when it is hit with light. As the mesh is inlayed into the material. And the material is acrylic glass. So the inlay is visible.

Apart from their special light carrying formula which makes them disperse the light in them greatly. But in general you will find the ring inlays to be those that our panels for interior design also have. And those are made of metal.

On this website you see the colletion of our design rings. As we created several rings. And we like them all. As this design project was something dear to us. And so we like to present our collection here. And maybe this design feat is something for you.
A special design material
Of course we like this material. It is a polimer. And we are into it. So we develope the spcific mixtures for making it this shiny. But actually we don’t. As also for that specific task of mixing the material we have a partner company. So there is a firm doing just this. And naturally the best result is created when several experts work together. So when you haf a jewelry designer work with materials that an expert has mixed and in which he puts an inlay that yet another material designer from france created then your get the best result. So these ring designs are top. And we would not have it any other way.
From interior design to ring design
We started off doing interior design. And for that we devised materials. And then at some point we decided that those materials would be nice for jewelry. And so we started this project with the design rings. And there we are now presenting our collection. So now we do more then just interior design as we opened up a new page in designing. And that is something to wear.
Ring in the new
This type of ring is not only new for us. As maybe never a polimer material of this quality was used for a design ring. So enjoy the shininess of the ring material. As it is just appropriate for these little treasures.
Fiocchi silver as a ring
This is the material fiocchi silver. So there are aluminum pieces in the design material. And this is one of our classic materials. And you will see this ring design in two shapes. There is the oval form and also the round form. You can see both designs in the pictures.
The jewelry bands are metal
The bands of the rings are made from metal. So the jewelry is also from metal material. And of course this jewelry is for the finger. And the rings are not made of wood. Also they are not of stone or glass. And they can be used for adornment.
Golden aluminum and mesh ring

History of rings
Rings and other jewelry have been discoverd from the 3rd millennium BC from the Indus Valley Civilisation. Then later in Ur people also made rings at 2500 before christ. Also then in old kingdom egypt people wore rings. And later in the Middle Kingdom the rings became more common and of more sophisticated ring design. And in greece later they also produced rings but they where more often just used as jewelry. As the rings before where often designed as signet rings. And in this period rings where often made from silver and bronze. While the Etruscans used gold for their rings.
And And then in the classic period more gold and silver rings where produced. While roman rings typically had a big hoop. Also they had a gem in the bezel. And in the middle ages it was fashionable to wear several rings on one finger. And the rings of this time where made of copper-based alloys, silver or gold. Then gems became common after 1150. And people believed that the gems could protect the ring wearer. Lombardic script and later Gothic script was used on the rings.

Many design materials have been used for jewelry design. And we use basically only one design material. As we are a company that is a material supplier. So we use the building material we produce and designed a ring collection of it. But in general a lot of design materials for rings have been used in history. And of course some of those design materials where metals. As throughout time gold and silver where probably the most famous materials used for design in general. But then of course other metals where used for the production of rings. So one design material used was titanium. You can say that many metals where used for designing jewelry. And in general of course people liked to use precious metals. So palladium was used as a design material. And another material that was used was platinum. While others used even Tungsten. And while those metals are well known there are even metal materials that are not very commonly known. And one of those design materials is Zirconium. But it is a material from the periodic table of elements. And of course humanities material science for a long time includes alloys. So as a matter of fact metal alloys have been used as design materials often. And one example for such a design material is Shakudō. So to the most part the material Shakudō is made of copper but also it includes just a bit of gold.
And other then those materials that are able to constitute the ring itself of course we then have a multitude of design materials that serve as inlays. As there has been a lot of creativity used to find stuff that could be combined with the rings.
And first and foremost in history of course those design materials where gemstones. And those materials often have a crystalline see through structure. And one of the most famous design materials for jewelry is the diamond. Which actually gets much of his worth through the brilliant cut. But the list materials in the category gem does not end there. As other famous material examples are also in this category. As for example the ruby. And another gem design material is the garnet. And then again another material of this class is the emerald. And also saphires have been used for ring design. And then of course since the middle ages at least people believed that certain materials have magic abilities. And they started to sort those to specific signs of the zodic. So that each sign would have a characteristic gem which gives the wearer the most potent magic effect. And in from those stones we have for example the aquamarine. And logically as those materials where ought to be worn they made it into the group of classic inlays for jewelry. And then other then the jewels like opals we have semiprecious stones serving as materials. So there is a group of minerals used as design materials which are crystals but not as expensive as the famous ones. And one of those gemstones is the chrysocolla. And it is a blue green crystal with a high copper content. And furthermore used as design materials where tansanite, topas and peridot. And those materials have characteristic colors. As the malachite for example has a typical green. Unless you use its blue version. And also the lapiz lazuli is known for its characteristic blue color. while other materials are use again for magic powers ascribed to them. As for example asian cultures believed that stomped jade when eaten gives a longer life. Which is a material property that is of course not backed up by science. But never the less the green jade was the stone worthy of kings. While technically two completely different materials are called jade they both are frequently used design materials.
And then there is obsidian. And obsidian is a vulcanic glass used as a design material. And this is a black very glossy material. As it is natural occuring glass that comes from lava. So it is a mineral that means it is like a stone.
While other materials for design are from plants and even animals. For example shells have these iridescent materials. And those shine in rainbow colors. And that is of course very interesting vor design. And then of course wood is one of the eldest design materials in the world. As people used it for designing objects millions of years ago already. So wood is a material that can be used to make a ring but also it can be used as an inlay for a metal ring for example. And one wood that can be used for the design is redwood. As the redwood trees are very impressive. As those trees are very big. So that does not make the material look any different. But yet it makes it special. So that is sometimes a feature that is considered in design. And in the same pattern of thinking some people design with the wood from whiskey barrels. While actually this is just oak wood it is the knowledge about there the material was used that makes it special. So this is another example of using origin of the material as a reason for choosing it for the design. And the same also is true for asteroids that are used as a material. Because in general the material from outer space is basically the same as the stones on earth. Or if it is not a rock then it has the same properties as Iron ore or other metallic materials. But of course if you know that the stone that is used on your ring design is from outer space then this is special. And probably this is also the reason to use petrified wood as a design material. As under certain circumstances prehistoric wood becomes stone. But it still has some features in its appearence from the wood. So you have tree trunks that are actually rocks. And it is not to much the look of the material but more its background story that makes it interesting for design. And yet another tree that is used as a design materials is the Kauri tree. But this just serves as an example of the many wood types used as design materials.
And then we have abalone used as a design material. Which is from a shell. And in this case the reason for the use of this specific design material are its optic properties. As this materials has iridescence. Which is the reflection of light as the colors of the rainbows it holds. and another classic design materials has the same characteristic lighting pattern and that is mother of pearl.
And then there are surprising design materials like concrete. As you would probaly think of this material as a building material rather then being a design material. But yet it is used for creating rings. And another unexpected design material is vinyl. And that is the material records are made of.
And then there are some designers who use sand as a material for their designs. While in order to use this material you have to bind the sand in another material. Because it is a powder and it can not be used by itself to build stable objects. And then there are guitar strings used as design materials. Which is logical if you see them for what they are as finely chiselled shiny pieces of metal. Which in itself already sounds like a description for jewelry. But again those designers use used guitar strings from the custumers as the design materials. Which makes you think of things like the strings used for the first concert played or similar events. which then become part of the design. And yet another design material that is unexpected are flower petals. As again also this natural material has to be bound in some form. As flower petals decay. So in some form they have to be encased in another design material. But then they make for a great design material with an amazing look to it. As Jesus already said: Look at the flowers as Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. So petals are beautiful and that makes them stand out as design materials. And another very famous design material of humankind is ceramic. As it was one of the most precios artificial materials at some point in history. And it was subjected to a lot of tries to copy it and also to industrial espionage. As the formula for creating this design material was worth a lot of money. And another design material are dinosaur bones. And those bones again serve as a design material not so much for their look. Even though they look interesting. But of course in this case again it is the history and story behind those materials that make them interesting for design.
