The plates have integrated nano particles. Those help with spreading light through the panel. What you see in the picture above on the bar design is not the nano particles glowing. There is a net of copper tissue inside the see through plate. In the bar there are LED lights surrounding the tile. Thats why top and bottom glow more. That is where the illumination is set
