Vocabulary
These are some words you use in interior design. They come up from time to time. This is an explanation of some of the interior design vocabulary.
Case goods
Case goods are pieces of furniture to store things in.
Chair rail
Chair rail is a molding attached horizontally to the wall. It is typically in the middle of the wall at the height of the top of the chairs.
Chaise
A chaise is a long chair for lying in it. It is like a sofa in chair form.
Console table
Console table is a wide fairly shallow table usually with the height of a usual table. Often placed against the wall and used for putting decorative items on it.
Countertop
A countertop is the flat surface in the kitchen on which you prepare your meal when cooking. Sometimes it is also used for eating.
Bouclé
Bouclé is a heavy fabric. Often covered with a pattern of loops and nobs made of the fabric. like a heavy blanket.
