Supersilver heat blocking glass as a building material

Supersilver heat blocking glass

Supersilver is a heat blocking glass. And it has a special reflective coating. So this type of glass has a glazing that blocks heat. And this glazing is called supersilver. And this glass design has its fixed place in architecture as of today. And since a lot of glass types can be glazed the glass used can be tempered glass. Or it can be laminated glass. Sometimes this heat blocking glass can be made up of a double glazing unit. Which means that two window panes are put on top of each other leaving a bit of space between them. Because with this technique the space between the panes does not let the warmth go through. Which makes this type of glass keep the warmth inside the building or outside. But the glazing of the supersilver has a different effect It blocks the solar radiation to also achieve a heat blocking effect. As it reduces the heat rays passing through the glass. Also this type of heat reflecting glass often also keeps out the UV light. Which can have a good effect on the atmosphere inside the room. And that is good for the interior design. So the reason why the window glass of skyscrapers often look bluish is that a coated glass is used. Because if the glass in these buildings was not glazed then the interiors would heat up a lot. As there is a lot of glass on these constructions. So in summer they would be like green houses. And a hotel design which heats up like a green house is not good for the guests. Unless you wish to emulate a tropical climate in a temperate zone. While if you are just building a kitchen design in a small house the effect of the interior heating up is not this big. Therefore in this case an insulated glass is enough for the needs of such a building. As the necessity of saving energy in such projects is the crucial factor as a heating up does not happen on such a large scale. So houses are usually not to much equipped with heat blocking glass. Unless the interior design is using patios that are directly connected to the other rooms of the house. As in this case the reduction of heat rays coming in is indeed a field of concern. But in larger buildings that have these huge glass fronts like skyscrapers or big hotels in general the necessity arises of keeping the heat rays out. While also in these buildings of course the idea of saving energy with a sophisticated design is also of the essence. And that is why it is common practice in such building projects to use both techniques on the glass that of glazing and that of using a double or even more often glazed unit. But from this all follows that the glass used as materials in such architectural projects is usually heat reflective. And glass is not in general a heat reflective material. As the special ability of this material is just to let rays pass through it. And heat is a ray. And heat is called infrared light. As those rays with long waves are below the visible spectrum. And they carry a lot of energy. So those IR rays are the heat rays. And so they can be blocked from transmitting through the glass and still allow the light of the visible spectrum to pass through the material. And therefore a reduction in the heat is achieved while the room does not become significantly darker. While of course as you can see in the bluish tint of the windows that a certain ammount of the visible light is also blocked with this glazing technique. While the way of glazing the material sometimes is done by spraying the glass with a vapour of chemicals. And oftentimes such glass is made using argon.
